Baptist Regional Medical Center is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing as a provider of nursing continuing education. Continuing education credits are also provided for various allied health professionals.
Registration
Preregistration is required for all offerings to ensure adequacy of space and material. Specific information concerning registration is included on individual program announcements which are distributed prior to the scheduled date.

(606) 523-8533. Letters of confirmation will not be sent.
Attendance
To receive continuing education credit, the participant must attend the entire workshop and complete an evaluation of the offering. No partial credit will be awarded and no exception will be made. Participants should plan to arrive ten to 15 minutes early to allow adequate time for registration.
Verification of CE Credit
Upon written request by the participant, Baptist Regional Medical Center will furnish copies of attendance verification should the original be lost or misplaced. A charge of $5.00 for each offering will be assessed. Requests should be sent to the Education Department and should include the offering title(s), date(s), if possible, and a check made payable to Baptist Regional Medical Center.

Radiologic Technologist Kentucky Radiation Operator Certification Program requires the following: General Certificate Holders Limited Certificate Holders | 18 KCE credits (15 direct, 3 indirect) 12 KCE credits (9 direct, 3 indirect) KCE credits must be obtained during each two year period that the certificate is valid. |

Participants employed by Baptist Regional Medical Center pay only $10 admission to any program sponsored by the hospital (unless otherwise noted). Non-employee fees are shown under "Course Descriptions and Dates." Non-employees must pay the class fee

Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (Provider Course C)
This comprehensive CPR course is appropriate for physicians, nurses, EMTs, respiratory therapists and other health care providers. Rescuers interested in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or BLS instructor status must take this course. The skills include adult one-rescuer and two-rescuer CPR, pediatric CPR and the Heimlich Maneuver on infants, children and adults.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support(Provider)
The American Heart Association's ACLS Provider Course provides training to medical, nursing and other health personnel in cardiac arrest management and emergency cardiac care. The course consists of a series of lectures with practicum and training stations. Both days must be attended to receive continuing education credits. Participants who wish to recertify can attend day 2 only, but will not receive any CEUs. Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias and Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers are prerequisite to this course. Course fee for employees is $10, plus a $30 book fee. Fee for non-employees is $100, including textbook and packet. Upcoming class dates are:

Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias (BCA)
This course is designed to present basic cardiac anatomy, including the conduction system, to those individuals who work with cardiac patients and cardiac monitoring or those who are interested in the field. It provides the participant with the knowledge required to interpret basic cardiac arrhythmias. This is a three day course and you must attend all three days. It is a prerequisite for ACLS. Course fee for Baptist Regional Medical Center employees is $10, plus a $30 book fee. Fee for non-employees is $100, including textbook and packet. Upcoming class dates are:
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
This offering presents the American Heart Association's standards and guidelines for management of the pediatric patient in respiratory distress, shock and/or cardiopulmonary failure. Lecture and lab simulations are used to promote effective learning of essential skills. This is a two day course and you must attend both days. Basic Life Support is a prerequisite. Do you know a complainer, know-it-all, or just someone difficult to get along with? This course will teach you about difficult people, why they are difficult and how to cope. Neonatal Advanced Life Support (NALS)
Every newborn has a right to resuscitation performed at a high level of competence. This program will assist the health care provider in gaining the knowledge and skills to perform neonatal resuscitation. Prerequisites are Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias and Basic Life Support. Stress Management
This class is designed to help employees handle stress on a day-to-day basis. The course is limited to Baptist Regional Medical Center employees. There is no fee. Upcoming class dates are:

Domestic Violence
This program is targeted to registered nurses, licensed practical nurses and social workers who need to meet the Kentucky Legislature's mandate to complete three hours of continuing education by June 30, 1999. Conflict Management
This course introduces the causes and stages of conflict, and the leader's crucial role in guiding others toward an effective resolution. It enables leaders to recognize signs that conflict exists, assess each conflict situation to determine the appropriate level of involvement, and serve as a catalyst to encourage those involved in the conflict to achieve resolution. Leaders learn the skills to both provide support and act as mediators. The course is free to Baptist Regional Medical Center employees and $65 for non-employees. Upcoming class dates are:
