Positive Pressure Therapy

This therapy is a type of breathing treatment, which delivers medication to lungs and helps patients take deep breaths.

Instructions to Patient
The patient should allow the IPPB machine to fill the lungs, i.e., don't inhale faster than the machine's flow of air.  Please make sure air is not escaping from the nose, if necessary a nose clamp may be used.

Additional Information
If dizziness occurs, the IPPB machine will be turned off until the dizziness subsides and then continue the treatment.
