The N95 Mask Fit testing is a potentially life saving service offered by Baptist Regional Medical Center. The protective N95 Mask is the minimum standard for the prevention of transmission of airborne microorganisms for hospital workers.
Instructions to Employee A Mask Fit Test must be scheduled with the Respiratory Care Department. The employee must complete the following fit test components: Medical exam/questionnaire, Sensitivity Test with saccharin aerosol, Pulmonary Function Screening Test, Positive Pressure Fit Test, Negative Pressure Fit Test, and education on airborne hazards.
Additional Information Employees who fail a Fit Test, will not be allowed to perform patient care for any airborne isolation requiring the use of a respirator.
