Prenatal Clinic

The Whitley County Health Department offers a Prenatal Clinic for lower income and Medicaid patients, Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., in the Medical Office Building located on Baptist Regional Medical Center's campus.

Prenatal care is your key to a healthy pregnancy and newborn. Studies have shown that women who receive regular prenatal care are more likely to have healthy babies and to be healthy themselves, than those who receive no or inadequate prenatal care.

Staffed by physicians, nurses and dietitians, the Whitley County Health Department Prenatal Clinic offers:
  • pregnancy tests;
  • regularly-scheduled examinations throughout your pregnancy;
  • referral to Baptist Regional Medical Center's perinatal diagnostic services for ultrasound or amniocentesis, as needed;
  • home visits; and
  • W.I.C. (Women, Infants & Children) Program, a supplemental food and nutrition education program for lower income pregnant and nursing women, infants, and children to age 5. The program helps make sure you and your growing baby get the nutrients you need to be healthy and provides coupons for free foods such as cereal, milk, infant juice, juice and cheese.
Women who attend the clinic deliver their babies at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
