Mission Vision and Values

Baptist Regional Medical Center opened in Corbin, Kentucky in 1986 as a replacement facility for the former Southeastern Kentucky Baptist Hospital. BRMC's mission statement was developed in 1994 and was adopted by employees, management staff, medical staff and board of directors as an apt description of what we should be and how we should be perceived by those we serve. It was important then, and continues to be important today, to remember that we will only be able to realize this mission when everyone is involved in the delivery of services at BRMC commits themselves and their work to this philosophy. To accomplish this, the mission must become a part of the personal philosophy of each individual at BRMC.

BRMC's mission is to provide quality health services to our customers using Christian values as a guide.

After reaffirming our mission statement as an accurate identification of who we are, and why we exist, it became obvious that our previous vision statement was out of synch with the challenges that lay ahead for BRMC. Due to changes in the nature of the healthcare industry and the effects these changes have had on BRMC, we decided to develop a more appropriate vision statement for the year 2005. This vision statement reflects our beliefs and best estimation of what we must be about in the next several years to remain successful as the preeminent healthcare provider in Southeastern Kentucky and in the broader context of the state and region. As usual, we will continually monitor this vision statement against our environment to assure we are headed in the appropriate direction.

BRMC will be recognized as a customer-focused healthcare team, committed to the quality of life in our region and the healing of the body, mind and spirit.

In addition, BRMC embraces a set of values that provide a foundation for how we go about achieving our mission and vision. These values are handed down to us from our parent organization and are embraced by BRMC as the way in which we go about our daily duties and activities. These values are the backbone, or character of the organization and we strive to reflect these values in all of our activities.
