Cumberland Healthcare, Inc Gives Back to our Community
CHI, Cumberland Healthcare Incorporated keeps on giving to further education and community events. CHI presented $2000.00 to each of the following middle school science programs: Corbin Middle School, Knox Middle School, South Laurel Middle School, North Laurel Middle School and Whitley County Middle School.
Baptist Regional Medical Center was the recipient of $2000.00 that was awarded to Community Projects, specifically the Focus Program. Lee Richardson, Coordinator of Community Health Services states, “We have received the CHI grant for the last 3 years. The donation goes to Community Health Services, FOCUS program to help with prescription needs. Our community is in great need and this grant helps in a big way.” St. Joseph of London was also a recipient of the award. Representative June Rollins was present to accept the contribution.
The following companies received funds for the wellness grant: Oak Tree received $747.00, Laurel Grocery received $4,965.00, Knox Family Medicine received $196.00, and London Medical Arts received $119.00. The amount was determined based on the employees per business. For every employee the company received $1.00 to assist in a wellness module.
“BRMC will use the money to implement a structured wellness program in January 2010 that will access the resources at the Hospital as well as have an interactive web site for additional resources and tools,” said Tim Perry, Human Resources Coordinator at Baptist Regional Medical Center.
