Speech and Language Pathology and Audiology
Baptist Health Corbin offers inpatient and outpatient Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology services to a wide spectrum of patients.
A Master's level speech-language pathologist evaluates and treats speech, language, cognitive, oral motor and swallowing deficits in children and adults. Persons who can benefit from speech-language services include:
- Infants, children and adolescents with developmental delays, deficits in speaking, understanding, hearing, swallowing or cognition.
- Adults with neurological diagnoses such as CVA (stroke), traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's disease or ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease).
- Adults with hearing deficits, vocal cord problems (injury, polyps, nodules, paralysis, hoarseness, etc.), dysfluencies (stuttering), cognitive and swallowing deficits.
Baptist Health Corbin has available a certified/licensed audiologist for audiological (hearing) screenings, complete audiometric assessments and rehabilitative services for both children and adults.
