What a glorious Savior
We have just gone through a glorious time of the year, the Christmas season. Christmas is glorious because we have a glorious Savior! Each Christmas Jesus becomes more precious and near to me. I love to be with family and enjoy the expressions of love extended during the Christmas Season. Most of all to be reminded of God’s great love and gift to us. That gift is Jesus himself. He is the gift of sovereign Lord, as measureless love, as a guiding light, and as the saving lamb. What a glorious Savior!
I am also reminded that in a few days we will hear the word love over and over as we approach the day called “Valentine’s Day. Love will be expressed through cards, roses, candy, short trips and a variety of ways.
How important is love? What is the value of love? First Corinthians is the great “love” chapter of the bible. Paul says we are to have Christlike love . Paul goes on to say that love “suffereth long.” (That means don’t fly off the handle). Love, “ is kind.” That means to extend kindness every day. Paul says real love “envieth not.”That means we are not to be jealous. A fourth virtue of true love is its humility. How our world needs a dose of this!
I look forward to Valentine’s Day because February will be half over and spring just around the corner. Isn’t it amazing how we can see God at work in all our seasons. Actually when we stop, just be still, we can experience His love every single day of our life.
Matthew 22:37 says that love is the greatest commandment. According to that, what would be the greatest sin? To fail to love because that would be breaking the greatest commandment.
I pray God will bless you in (2007) in a wonderful way. This could be the best year of your life.I believe this will happen when we love the Lord with all our heart, soul, and mind. He deserves nothing less than that because He is a glorious Savior.
