Fresh Touch

As you go about your daily routine, do you sometimes feel as though the world is winning? From the irritations and conflicts of your personal circumstances to bad news in the marketplace and the media, it’s easy to become discouraged and focused on the negative.

God has given us a tremendous scripture for times like these. I John 5:4-5 is a truth that remains. “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world; and this is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?” The good news, we are more than conqueror’s through Jesus Christ. How we experience that victory is by “Committing our ways to the Lord; trust in Him.”

A FRESH TOUCH

In light of the above, how do I experience this joy and peace recorded in scripture? I believe with all my heart that all of us need a “fresh touch from God.” A touch that will refresh our walk and renew our worship. The good news, we can have this experience. Greater news, God is longing to give us a fresh touch. So, what’s the hold up? It is actually, “who is the hold up?” To find the hold up just look into the mirror.

The next question you might be asking; what can I do to get that fresh touch. What is there that is preventing God from blessing my life.

Number I. Ephesians 4:30 “And grieve not the Holy Spirit.” That means to make sorrow, grieve the very heart of God by our lifestyle. The Holy Spirit that produces, love, joy, and peace is the supplier, and we are grieving Him.  How can there be any joy when we are grieving the very one who produces those things in our life?

Number II. I Thess 5:19 “Quench not the spirit.” We quench the spirit when we say no and God says yes. When we say later, and God says now. We throw water on what God wants to do in our life….that is suppressing the spirit.

Conclusion: Ps. 37 “Commit your way to the Lord.” Trust Him…Walk with the Lord everyday. When you do that, you will experience a fresh touch from God everyday.
